In my previous post, I mentioned that, irrespective of what Roberts' decision was, we were left the responsibility to fight this battle ourselves. Just my opinion: 

..absenting ourselves from the dispute of whether Roberts is Obi-Wan Kenobi or a modern day Benedict Arnold, this is what we are left with and it is the battle ground upon which we must fight.

Personally and without congratulating Justice Roberts one whit, I'd rather fight this struggle than have the mandate crippled and that lying crapsack man-child POTUS droning on and on to his nation of mouth-breathing mirror-foggers that he wuz robbed.

TANGENTIAL UPDATE: Odie inadvertently turned me on to an Open Letter over at Fuzzy Logic. At first I thought it was one of those "a pox on both your houses" screeds in the Libertarian vein wherein the author declares he or she is going to throw away their vote (my characterization) on a third party candidate because they believe Romney almost as bad as Obama.

I will stipulate to the fact that Romney is not [yet] a president of Ronald Reagan's stature and he does not carry the best of conservative credentials. But I do believe he is a far better chief executive than the hopeless, feckless Pantload is. Fuzzy Slippers' letter? Well, it is a well-crafted argument as to why people should not go to sleep ONCE ROMNEY IS ELECTED -- and that is a point I am 1,000% down with. She starts out:

Making noise and having fun..

The Good Lance Corporal stumbled onto something interesting the other day and I must admit I am smitten. There is a segment of the shooting population that enjoys what they call Black Powder Shooting. These are the old muzzle-loading firearms antiques and replicas of same harkening us back to the gentler(?) age of the Wild West or Revolutionary War days.

He discovered that one can own a replica of a Samuel Colt .44 revolver (shown below) for surprisingly little money and apparently little or no interaction with the buzz-kill federal and state regulations. (Caveat: your mileage may vary.) In any event, I walked into my office one morning this week and this beautiful replica of the Colt 1860 .44 Army revolver on my desk. (He had gotten in from work late and put it there for me to see when I got up early in the morning.) It is a beautiful, graceful piece of machinery:

And I was dumbfounded when he told me that these were available as inexpensively as they were and without the registration regulations required of normal pistols.

The operation of these is somewhat quaint, you do not just jam in another clip and wail away. (You can, however, do what they did back in the day: carry around pre-loaded cylinders.) Here is a video on the care and feeding of these beautiful pieces.

Anyway, I hope we can get out to the range and bang off a few rounds to see how it shoots. Hell, I might even pick up one for myself, and a holster and a hat and a serape.

Same Bravo Sierra, different day..

One day after the Framing Speech in Cleveland and it's less than charitable press reviews, Obama is skewered by several items that accurately characterize the sum and essence of this fool's lip-flappin', G-droppin' message to his homies.

First, an ad from American Crossroads devishly disguised in the red, white, and powder blue mantle of the Obama color scheme:

And then there's always the latest gambit that The First Fool has thrown agaist the wall to see if it will stick: alone and without the consent or approval of congress, he's gonna order the cessation of deportation of young illegals entering this country:

The Obama administration announced Friday it will stop deporting illegal immigrants who come to the country at a young age.

The politically charged decision comes as Obama faces a tough reelection fight against Republican Mitt Romney, with Hispanic voters in swing states seen as a key bloc.

The change in policy could allow as many as 800,000 immigrants who came to the United States illegally not only to remain in the country without fear of being deported, but to work legally, according to a senior administration official speaking to reporters Friday.

Obama is set to make a statement at 1:15 p.m. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced the new policy Friday morning.

“Our nation’s immigration laws must be enforced in a firm and sensible manner,” Napolitano said in a statement. “But they are not designed to be blindly enforced without consideration given to the individual circumstances of each case. Nor are they designed to remove productive young people to countries where they may not have lived or even speak the language. Discretion, which is used in so many other areas, is especially justified here.”

Many point out that Romney, appearing on Face the Nation this Sunday (his first non-Fox "unsafe" appearance), needs to point out that this is an election gambit designed to pander to the intersection of two subsets of the electorate Obama desperately needs: young folks and illegals -- and, by extension, Hispanics. He can also say that the Tinkers-to-Evers-to-Chance on this is the bleeding heart mantra of “would you deport an innocent 16-year-old child who has done nothing, obeyed the law, and his/her only fault is that they were brought here by their parents” is extended to the parents: “Would you deport the parents of an innocent 16-year-old child who..”

And that means that those folks (the parents) will be here to take jobs from legal immigrant workers and American citizens AND perforce, their children will need to continue their education and have their healthcare paid for by the taxpayer.

I personally think, like the other strategies tried by this gang that couldn't shoot straight -- the war on wimminses, the war on dogs, the war on Bain Capital, the war on Ann Romney, the war on war, etc. -- that this will only succeed in placing a large orange Chef Boy-ar-Dee stain on the plaster and another messy pile of noodles on the floor below.

Smart stew..

No, this is not a day-early-rule-five-Friday entry. I don;t do that sort of thing because I am too busy scoping out the other blogs' entries. This is from my Squadron XO, 1LT Kevin King:

A 50-something year old Muslim man arrived at his seat on a crowded flight and immediately didn't want the seat. The seat was next to an elderly white woman reading her Bible. Disgusted, the Muslim man immediately summoned the flight attendant and demanded a new seat. The man said "I cannot sit here next to this infidel." The flight attendant said "Let me see if I can find another seat."

After checking, the flight attendant returned and stated "There are no more seats in economy, but I will check with the captain and see if there is something in first class." About 10 minutes went by and the flight attendant returned and stated "The captain has confirmed that there are no more seats in economy, but there is one In first class. It is our company policy to never move a person from economy to first class, but being that it would be some sort of scandal to force a person to sit next to an UNPLEASANT person, the captain agreed to make the switch to first class."

Before the irate Muslim man could say anything, the attendant gestured to the elderly woman and said, "Therefore ma’am, if you would so kindly retrieve your personal items, we would like to move you to the comfort of first class as the captain doesn't want you to sit next to an unpleasant person." Passengers in the seats nearby began to applaud while some gave a standing ovation.

There is a veritable blizzard of facts coming at us these days -- a by product of the election and Obama's seemingly more desperate attempt to sell his pathetic POTUS-hood to us yet again -- and it is rapidly turning out to be an epic fail.

I am sure most of you remember those dreary Sunday evenings when you were in school before a term-paper deadline. You know, that one piece of work that you put off until the very last moment because you were having too much fun partying to do the work. You resigned yourself to pulling an all-nighter figuring it would be enough but you knew in your heart of hearts it wouldn't be.

Note that this litany of pivot, aside from painting Obama as a whirling Dervish, was compiled IN AUGUST 2011. So you can add a few more spins to the list, I am sure.

Anyway, I am wandering off topic here. The point was that we are being inundated with a fusillade of facts by this clown and his campaign, A.K.A., The Gang That Could Not Shoot Straight. The most prominent of these is the one that gives his ardent tongue-bathers a fit of the vapors and sends the MSM running dog lackeys sprinting for their sequined knee pads: the shibboleth that this administration created 4.3 million jobs. While not consigning this to the scrap heap, Gerri Willis of the Fox Business Network, deconstructs most of this rather artfully:

I am not completely comfortable with Ms Willis' dismissal because it leaves open the door to the rejoinder that El Stiffo inherited these problems and it took the first fourteen months (forty one minus twenty seven) to get things rolling. Nonetheless, the 4.3 million jobs does leave a net negative in job creation.

By the way, you might run up against rebuttals by some of your liberal, Bammie-lovin' friends like this May 10th, 2012 argument from the DailyKOS (emphasis mine):

Here are the facts: Between October 2009 and the present, the unemployment rate has fallen from 10 percent to 8.1 percent. In October 2009, there were 129.5 million Americans with full-time jobs. Today, there are 133 million Americans with full-time jobs. That's a growth of 3.5 million jobs. Don't believe me? The numbers are here.

So yes, Mitt, they have been able to create jobs. And the workforce didn't decline during that period of time, either: It grew by 544,000.

And let's not forget the number one reason why job growth hasn't been stronger: layoffs in the public sector. In the private sector alone, more than 4 million jobs have been created since October 2009. But during the same period of time, a half-million public sector jobs were lost, and the reason why those jobs were lost is that too many concessions were made to Republicans in the stimulus and because Republicans used the filibuster and their recapture of the House to block the sorts of jobs bills that would have prevented those job losses.

The numbers in the link are the results of a query this clown did using the Economic Research site of the Federal reserve Bank of St Louis. I have excerpted the title and significant data:

I call your attention to the fact that the author cherry picked October 2009 as the starting point and, looking at the data series, one can see why. The excursion from January 2009 to October 2009 was a net loss of 4,282,000 jobs. (The numbers in the data are in thousands.) That is, January 2009 employment was 133,561,000 and October's was 129,279,000. If you do the math from January 2009 through May 2012 you get 133,009,000 less 133,561,000 or a negative 552,000 jobs -- which is how much this sad sack is in the tank.

Pray tell me, what's the magic of the October 2009 starting month? Didn't Obama's term start in January?

However, even if you accept the DailyKOS fool's premise that you do start in October 2010, then you would have 3,447,000 jobs created. (I do not know where he got the "workforce increased by 544,000 jobs" nonsense.) That's an average of 84,800 jobs created per month -- but it's a capricious number for the aforementioned reason of the arbitrary date range. If you calculate it based on the entire 41 months there there is a net LOSS of 13,600 jobs per month. Neither of these numbers address the fact, of course, that job creation needs to be around 150,000 or more just to take up the new entries into the work force from high school and college graduation.

It seems that the gang that can't shoot straight -- the Obama campaign -- has now also turned tone-deaf. Last Friday, in addition to hijacking Air Force One to go on a campaign junket thinly veiled as official business (a factory tour and speechifying sandwiched between six fundraisers), they also are going to allow the peasants a pair o' seats at their table at an upcoming NY fundraiser "hosted" by Sara Jessica "Why the long Face" Parker and Anna "I'm always in Vogue" Wintour.

The Romney/RNC Blitzkrieg did not waste any time jumping on this one:

It's a goodly part of the ad in playing in the background with those oh so uncomfortable numbers up close and personal.

I won't dwell on the annoying accent and arrogance of Wintour as she recounts her good fortune at meeting women like Parker and "Mee-Shell Obah-Ma" but I truly wonder about a campaign whose dissonance includes bashing Romney as a One-Percenter while simultaneously seekign to raise funds with this bitch and Ferris Beuller's wife.

Clown at the Wheel

I am not in a good mood.

This, I am certain sure, matters little to you but I wanted to set the context for this post. Ain't tripping all over Casa War Planner, strewing rose petals and humming a merry tune. That's all.

And it is not in the slightest that the ass clown in the White House -- our house, The People's House -- continues his feckless, childish, incurious escapades as our chief executive.

It is, I guess because I am awake at 0442 on a Saturday morning faced with the prospect of a full day at hard labor with little sleep and -- among other things -- my IRA down about $14,000 over the last week. (And I ain't rich; that's a sizable decline.)

Just, you know, a number irritants combining into a perfect storm of sullenness.

But, as long as I am up and irritable, let's have at what may be the underlying cause of my $14,000 loss -- and similar losses in your portfolios -- Barack Obama.

Yesterday, the jobs report came out. It showed that the private economy created only 69,000 jobs for the month of May. The report also said there were actually 49,000 fewer jobs in March and April than they originally reported. It also reported that unemployment went rose a to 8.2 percent, a tenth of a percent up from the previous month.

The day before, the ADP Monthly Employment Report stated that U.S. nonfarm private business sector increased by 133,000 from April to May.Also Thursday, the nation's Gross Domestic Product for the first quarter of 2012 was revised from 2.2 percent to an extremely anemic 1.9 percent.

Yesterday, stocks took a huge face plant -- the Dow Jones lost 275 (the most it's lost in 2012) points and the NASDAQ and S&P indexes were similarly off as well.

This morning, the movers and shakers in the world economic arena are saying we could be faced with a run on banks and a freezing of capital markets we saw four years ago. They call it The Great Panic of 2008.

So, amidst all of this terrible economic news, how does our POTUS respond? Well, yesterday, this man rode half way across this country in Air Force One to campaign for another four years for his job -- and you and I are picking up a majority of the expenses for this trip. I'll get back to you on that outrage later. First let me present to you with the White House schedule for 1 June 2012:

Wow! Now don't you feel better? I mean The Chicago Jesus is really on the job here, ain't he? I feel so much better now knowing that he is able to do some intel on the ground at a factory while Hoovering up some campaign bucks in Minnesota and Illinois.

But aside from him doing absolutely nothing to address the economy -- not even one pivot towards jobs yesterday -- the only thing I can see on his schedule that remotely appears to be a non-campaign event is the 90 minutes he visited the Honeywell plant to look around for half an hour and lecture congress on his "to-do list".

Pot meet kettle.

Oh, and on the subject of who's picking up the tab on these little forays, there's an article that Susan Crabtree did in April on the subject. Ms Crabtree points out:

Mr. Obama has shown a penchant for piggybacking fundraisers onto official trips, and figuring out the details of how much the Obama campaign must reimburse taxpayers for the mixed trips is complicated and opaque, confounding presidential scholars and even the most experienced federal election law experts.

“Nobody knows how much the travel has to be paid for by either the Democratic National Committee or the president's campaign committee, or how they come up with the data, or how long they have to reimburse it after the travel takes place,” said Brett Kappel, an expert on election law at Arent Fox. “It’s a total mystery — it’s a black box.”

Doing some digging, Ms Crabtree surmises that -- whatever is paid -- it probably ain't a whole hell of a lot (emphasis added):

Despite Mr. Obama’s pledge to run the most transparent administration in history, the White House and the Obama campaign have done little to clarify the situation.

White House and campaign spokesmen repeatedly told The Washington Times they were abiding by all campaign laws in their reimbursements for political travel by the president, vice president and other administration officials, but could not shed any light on how those reimbursement figures are determined and when and where the reimbursements are made.

A search of Obama campaign Federal Election Commission reports turned up less than $5,500 in payments last year to the U.S. Treasury — and those payments did not list the purpose behind them.

“The campaign will follow all rules and pay for the portion of travel that relates to political events, as has been true for previous incumbent presidential candidates,” said Obama campaign spokeswoman Katie Hogan.

And to put that five grand in context, there's this to consider:

Few estimates exist for the cost of flying the president, vice president and Cabinet and administration officials around the country, but the extensive advance teams, Secret Service agents, vehicles and military and civilian personnel required are not cheap. In 1998, the Air Force estimated the cost of operating Air Force One, a modified Boeing 747, at at least $57,000 an hour.

So, not only is his lobster-sucking wife living large on our nickel, turns out we're getting stiffed big time so this guy can get the funds to get his sorry ass re-elected.

They Audacity of Hype: Halo Pictures

I am sure you've seen them. they started out when this asswipe started leaking into the kens of the mentally-and-emotionally challenged feelings-based members of our society back in late 2007. Those who hungered and thirsted for a messiah to deliver us from the evils of Bush and the Republicans turned their hearts over to the jugeared pantload Chicago Jesus POTUS.

Soon they began popping up all over, these digital manifestations of all of this rock-star swooning: the picture of Obama with a halo behind his head. I could run a series of them -- in increasing order of abject fawning and reverence -- but I am sure you are either reqading this while consuming your breakfast, a mid-day snack, lunch, or anchovy pizza and I would not want to upset your consumption of victuals.

But they're out there in all their glory, lurking, waiting for some tingly-legged swooner to turn over their mortgage and car payment bills to.

Not comes this latest offense, an adoring photog silhouetted President Turd Bag's shadow against the Viet Nam wall and included the obligatory halo:

Now I suppose -- photographically -- there's no way you could get an image like that without a flash halo, but still, it's particularly offensive to me that this American-hating, socialist pig with no military service nor a shred of love for our military would deign to cast his sordid shadow on an obsidian-black memorial whereon the names of 55,000 heroes who gave their all for this country -- including my college room mate, Corporal Terry Ogami, and my high school classmate, 1LT Garrett Eddy.

As with so many things this consummate fool and his tongue-bathing followers have done, it is wildly inappropriate to the point of being vomit-inducing.

Jobs Report: The oher shoe drops..

Today's May jobs numbers came out and it was not good. I am sure you have seen all of the buzz on the other sites. And I am sure you will here the spin from the scared-straight Dems who are attempting to save the ass of their amazing jug-eared, golf-playing, slow-jammin' clueless preezy.

..and I am sure you will be engaged in conversations with a couple of those die-hard, liberal Obama butt-swooshers at the office -- you know, the bitter clingers of the left who still love this clown despite the train wreck he's made out of this country. These guys will undoubtedly offer white-knuckled apologia for the whole situation using their favorite "inherited" narrative.

Well, here's a concise rebuttal to those clowns as to who really bear the blame for this economy -- and it goes back to before The Ass-Clown was elected. Cut and fold and keep in your wallet for the occasions where debate with these idiots eventuates:

The last month that the Republicans controlled the House, the Senate, and the Presidency was December 2006.

What was the unemployment rate in December 2006?

New Democrat Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Harry Reid, and Senators Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, etc. all inherited a GOOD economy from Republicans on January 4, 2007!!!

I have had enough of Democrats saying that Obama inherited a bad economy from Bush.

Bush and the Republicans ceased to be in the majority party on January 4, 2007.

Obama and the Democrats began majority party control of spending on January 4, 2007.

The true date of the transition in the balance of power is NOT January 20, 2009. It IS January 4, 2007.

By the way, the low point in the Employment-population ratio during the Bush-Republican majority years was 62.0 in September 2003. The 2003 Bush Tax cuts turned the economy around, and the Employment-population ratio increased all the way up until… the Democrats took majority control of the House, Senate, and overall spending process…

It is Democrats who drove the economy into the ditch.

It is Democrats who pushed the CRA and blocked Republican attempts to reform Fannie/Freddie. It is Democrats who are mostly responsible for TARP, and totally responsible for the Porkulus, Cash for Clunkers, etc. yet they blame that ALL on Bush and then claim it as their baseline to claim that they haven’t increased spending much.

ITGuy made this remark and is a commenter over on Hot Air. He would bag on Romney (I think he backed Santorum) and would frustrate the hell out of me. But he is a good troop, always has the facts at hand (see above), and can be counted on to be fair and logical.

In any event, and on the main topic, there's much pain in this economy and it's been going on for a long time. Yet Mr Job Pivot is in Minnesota and Illinois today for fundraisers. Too bad he can't squeeze in a round of golf.
