Blame bush? Go ahead, make my day..

I was looking at FNS this evening -- Dana Perino, whom I adore, was hosting for Greta Van Sustern -- and they brought up the Bush tax cut expiration this coming December.

Oooooh baby! It ain't getting any easier for Big Chief Wee-Wee, is it? If he lets them expire, he faces the prospect of having the Republicans make an issue of it and, if they are in control, put up a bill to extend them (with a smidge of sympathetic Dem help) and he is faced with vetoing it. If he does and the economy stays bad or really tanks, then he is toast.

But if he passes it or engineers an extension and the economy improves, then people will get the fact that his and Pelosi's policies are a failure and the GOP had it right all along.

Like RoboCop said, "Your move, creep!"

UPDATE: The Illustrated Conservative has lent substance and detail to this post, for example:

  • # Personal income tax rates will rise. The top income tax rate will rise from 35 to 39.6 percent (this is also the rate at which two-thirds of small business profits are taxed).
  • # The 10% bracket rises to an expanded 15%
  • # The 25% bracket rises to 28%

  1. Don't be surprised if they extend it and it works that they do not spin it somehow to take credit. Remember, they are masters of spin and they have the MSM behind them.

  2. ..roger. understand.

But it is too tricky to spin any way but the adoption of YET ANOTHER Bush Policy -- arguably one that has his name on it.

I do not think that this regime is adroit enough to pull it off. For one thing, they don't plan that far down the road. (cf. the AZ lawsuit. Abandoning discrimination as the main point in their brief?) They totally mishandle everything.

It's one thing to have power and ram sh~t down people's throats and it is quite another to implement policies.

Hell, this clown's people cannot even handle him or write a speech for him without editing out the gaffes.

Here, here, and, most famously, here.

I mean, the guy's a train wreck. As I have been blathering on and on at this site about this Narcissist, when he hits the 30s and loses the love and affection of his "followers", watch him begin to flail.

..it will NOT be a pretty sight.

  3. I suspect that what they'll try to do is make them into "targeted tax cuts" that will apply to the most needy Americans while those who "do not pay their fair share" will get bupkiss. Oh, and also expect more target tax cuts if you use, develop or promote green technologies.
