Tremor in the force?

From the London Telegraph via Memeorandum

Rahm Emanuel expected to quit White House

Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff, is expected to leave his job later this year after growing tired of the "idealism" of Barack Obama's inner circle.

Chink in the armor? Walls beginning to crumble? As Drudge would say..

..developing.

UPDATE: Richard Fernandez over at Pajamas Media has an interesting article analyzing the prose of the Telegraph piece:

The key question to settle in choosing the right version is deciding who is ditching whom. Is Rahm Emmanuel firing a shot across the President’s bow or is the President telling Rahm to get with the program? The internal evidence suggests that Rahm Emmanuel is doing the warning because the far future date of his supposed departure would be unlikely if the message came from “Barack Obama” or “Barack Obama’s inner circle”. But there is enough ambiguity built into the message to allow for plausible deniability. Rahm is warning his boss as strongly as he possibly can without being overtly insubordinate.

The first comment to that PJM article -- by Black Bart -- raises interesting possibilities:

..AND THE WALLS COME A-TUMBLIN' DOWN: Clifton over at Another Black Conservative has a great post about Mort Zuckerman, one of Obama's chief pre-election bum-osculators, dumping a steaming load on Scooter in a "scathing critique" (emphasis added):

The end result is that a critical mass of influential people in world affairs who once held high hopes for the president have begun to wonder whether they misjudged the man. They are no longer dazzled by his rock star personality and there is a sense that there is something amateurish and even incompetent about how Obama is managing U.S. power. For example, Obama has asserted that America is not at war with the Muslim world. The problem is that parts of the Muslim world are at war with America and the West.

The post by Clifton is a must-visit and I'm dying to hear more.

  1. It would be entertaining if it were not so threatening to the safety and security of our country.

  2. ..I am all at sea over this. The WH issued a denial today but it is hard to believe (as is *anything* out of the WH) a rumor like this would be floated were there not some substance to it. It only makes them appear inept..

    ..oh wait.
