Attorney General Eric Holder’s Department of Justice dumped documents related to Operation Fast and Furious on congressional officials late Friday night. Central to this document dump is a series of emails showing Holder was informed of slain Border Patrol agent Brian Terry’s murder on the day it happened – December 15, 2010.

An email from one official, whose name has been redacted from the document, to now-former Arizona U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke reads: “On December 14, 2010, a BORTAC agent working in the Nogales, AZ AOR was shot. The agent was conducting Border Patrol operations 18 miles north of the international boundary when he encountered [redacted word] unidentified subjects. Shots were exchanged resulting in the agent being shot. At this time, the agent is being transported to an area where he can be air lifted to an emergency medical center.”

That email was sent at 2:31 a.m. on the day Terry was shot. One hour later, a follow-up email read: “Our agent has passed away.”

Burke forwarded those two emails to Holder’s then-deputy chief of staff Monty Wilkinson later that morning, adding that the incident was “not good” because it happened “18 miles w/in” the border.

Wilkinson responded to Burke shortly thereafter and said the incident was “tragic.” “I’ve alerted the AG [Holder], the Acting DAG, Lisa, etc.”

..hmmmmmm. Lessseeeee, 4-1/3 x 5 = 21-2/3 weeks. You do the math, but that sure appears like “a few” to them is just like 20,000 jobs is “not many”. Here is Don Wade and Roma-- two WLS Chicago talk show hosts -- in an interview with Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) weho tries to justify The Pantload's recent veto of the Keystone Pipeline veto. Listen to this sniveling waste of skin try to tap dance around this as Don and Roma keep bringing up embarrassing facts like the fact that the pipleline was researched for three years, it was signed off by the state department, and that the 20,000 were the direct jobs with an additional 100,000 jobs.

Just in case you don;t remember who this worthless piece of dog vomit is, she's the one who got into it with a talk show host (I do not believe it was Don and Roma -- maybe someone else) back in September last year who maintained that you do NOT deserve to keep your money:

Robert B. Creamer, the husband of U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky, was indicted today on federal charges of operating three check-kiting schemes that defrauded banks out of at least $2.3 million while he ran an Illinois public interest group.

Creamer, 56, of Evanston, was charged with 16 counts of bank fraud for allegedly swindling nine different financial institutions. He also was charged with 18 counts of tax fraud.

Seems he served time for this as his page on the Federal Bureau of Prisons site states..

Sorry for the late response; I do not feel compelled to call you anything except a good person with an opinion that differs from my own.

Please recognize that I have a bad case of ODS and feel that if he is given another fours years -- irrespective of who controls Congress -- he will do far more damage to this country and this economy. I laid this out in the post to which you added your comment but I feel it important to reiterate some points -- not to be argumentative, but for you and others to consider.

Firstly, I think you mean re-electing Obama for 2012 - not 2016. I am not a tin-foil hat wearing member of the fraternity that believes he will suspend elections in 2016 and appoint himself Emperor Barack I of the U. S. S. of A. like his hero, the cancer-stricken tub of goo running Venezuela. (But get back to me in, say, 2015 and we'll see.)

That said, however, the prospect of giving Obama another four years is nonetheless frightening. He will not be fettered by re-election worries; his only concern -- because of his monumental ego -- will be to cement his legacy by indelibly imprinting his image on this country.

He will surely veto any bills to cross his desk that don't cleave to his ultra-liberal, socialist bent. How about attempts to repeal ObamaCare? Forget that; not gonna happen. And, once that monstrosity is in place and the benefits have kicked in, then it becomes an entitlement like Social Security and cannot be gouged out of our firmament. The prospect of a non-tax-paying underclass being permanently welded to the Democrat party might well ensure that the Spartan, conservative darling candidate you yearn for in 2016 will fade in the haze as the proles clamor for more and more from a permanent, socialist all-powerful, all-controlling, all-providing government.

Then there's the prospect of his stacking the SCOTUS with two ultra-liberal justices and that is something that will doom us for decades to come. If that happens and we are lucky, we might not see the light of day until this century has played out. (Of course, we shall be dust by then.)

No, Romney is not the reincarnation of Reagan but I do not believe he is nearly as bad as Obama and his crowd. I fully believe -- if he is the nominee --the key lies in whom Romney picks as a running mate. Someone like Rubio will be the heir to Romney's tenure and certainly lead us out into much brighter, sunnier days than the gloom of giving this idiot another four years to compound the damage he has done to this country. But I believe that he may very well turn out to be a lot better -- conservatively -- than people think.

By the way, and for your edification, I am not wed to Romney. I will work equally hard for any candidate winning the GOP nomination. But, as I said in the post you commented on:

Rare opening here at work, Odie, so I'll respond. Dunno if the guy is a troll or not. I looked at this website and he seemed to be pretty much an ABRer. I took his comments at face value and merely enunciated my opinion of getting The Supreme Pantload out of office *then* go to work on the [considerable] damage he has done.

I still cleave to the electability of Romney by virtue of his appeal to moderates and disaffected Dems. And, in the end, we will have to work with those people in the general election and beyond.

I do believe that the country -- if we get Obama out -- will continue the revolution that started in NOvember 2010.

Saturday again after a busy week. It was to have been a morning at the Chino Hills High School Amateur Radio Swap Meet and today I was to have taken The War Planner III and my grandchildren, Sabrina and The War Planner IV. but, alas, a Pacific storm swept in and I don't feel like trudging around the swap and exposing the two kids to the cold and damp. If they got sick, my bride and my daughter in law would never let me hear the end of it.

So I have time to jot a few words here before I embark on today's rain-sodden adventures.

I see where the big rage is Newt Gingrich's second comeback-- or is it third (I have lost count) -- as he is poised to trounce Mitt Romney in South Carolina. I don't know about you but I am actually wearying of all of these debates and the endless hype and breathless speculation by the news outlets over our political process.

The old adage is that there are two things best left unseen: the making of sausage and the making of laws (politics). It is as though, in this latter case, the politicians in our ruling class have taken their show ion the road. Their multi-state, mobile abbatoir on the road with the killing axes, flensing knives, offal, entrails, and blood spatters on full view for the great gawking proletariat. If I weren't such a person of sunny optimism, I would say that the MSM and the clods who control our destiny are bent on discouraging us from participation this Fall by dulling our interest now.

It would seem that -- for the moment -- this is working on me. I prefer to chase other things at the moment and let the drama play out or, in keeping with my earlier metaphor, the meat get packed.

Even my beloved Hot Air has descended into this maelstrom with its commenters dividing into several camps: the staunch ABR (Anyone But Romney) crowd, the Mittbots, the terminal Eeyores ("We should give up now, it's all hopeless, Obama will win!"), their brethren, the eternally cynical basement-dwelling cynics who basically take a great deal of delight in rebutting/refuting/pissing on every shred of happiness and hope posted, and the sarcastic, snarky (God, I hate that word) comedians.

While Ed Morrissey's analysis is usually spot on and his ability to dissect the bogus MSM polls to point out the howlers and blatant attempts to manipulate with their questionable statistical methods (oversampling Dems, etc.), the others -- Allahpundit, Jazz Shaw, etc. -- have devolved into spewers of disdain and cynicism. The fresh-faced, lovely Tina Korbe attempts some perkiness but, alas, she is too much of a dewy-eyed ingenue to do serious, hard-bitten commentary. She needs about 500 miles of hard road and a few cases of cheap Scotch to earn her grits, in my opinion.

But, as I said, the once-delightful comments have become a roiling mass of incoherence with very few intellectual bright spots.

That said, I stumbled on this remark that sums up my feelings on this rainy Saturday morning in Southern California. It's on the subject of Gingrich's sudden resurrection and rise in the South Carolina polls:

Well put. I strongly support Romney, and I don’t feel nervous or bad about the fact that Newt might win in South Carolina. This whole business about Newt getting attention for his punchy debate answers is just silly. It’s Newt Gingrich we’re talking about. The man is disliked so much by so many (including conservatives and independents) that it’s completely laughable that anyone would think he could win the nomination (let alone beat Obama, which would never happen).

We all know that this angry, pompous Newt routine is going to wear thin fast. This is not something that is going to sell well in many other states. Newt Gingrich will push his blunt answers too far, he’ll let it all go to his head (as he always does), and people will get a closer look at Newt and sour on him again.

Kind of a shame that things are having to get so ugly (and that an extended primary season might end up helping Obama), but I have no doubt that most voters are sane and will vote to nominate Romney, who is the candidate with the best chance, BY FAR, of beating Obama.

..sorry about the breach of etiquette in quoting the entirety of this long response. It's just that there's so many things I agree with -- especially the part about Newt winning SC.

One really, really good takeaway from all of this drama is that the common folk (read you, me, the HA crowd, and the real people of this country) have had the scales fall away from their eyes and have seen that a candidate can give some blow back to the anointed liberal moderators of these chicken-sh!t debates. Conversely, it might show those who stage the presidential debates in the Fall that their gotcha questions and hit-job journalism bomb-drops will incite us, the great unwashed, to favor the victim of their set-up.

Hell, they might take this lesson so to heart that they'll probably savage their beloved Pantload in an attempt to revive him in the public's eye.

It's all good, the HA Eeyore crowd notwithstanding.

Hey, I am lazy but I worked hard all week and want to spend some time with my hobbies. I got an AR to finish (need a couple of punches from Brownells for the Bolt Catch assembly) and I want to retro-fit an LCD display on a K1EL K-42 code reader I built.

So, I thought I'd let a comment from Hot Air serve fill in for me. Rational Though was commenting on an assertion made that Romney is using the electability meme; like McCain did in 2008. The point was that McCain failed and so will Romney. Well, here it is for your reading pleasure, emphasis added:

I don’t recall McCain’s electability getting the play last time around that Romney’s is this time. I’ve Google searched it, and yeah, it was definitely there, but I do not recall it being such a big issue. I recall that it was “McCain’s turn” and all of that. I never wanted McCain — I thought Rudy was much more electable — but no Republican was going to win in 2008. Period. That is just a fact. The “financial crisis” in late September, which Bush, McCain, and that corrupt POS Hank Paulson all jumped on with their hyperbolic doomsday scenarios ended the contest. No one was going to beat the Cult of Obama in the face of a “Republican financial crisis” that was “threatening the very existence of the nation.” McCain was an awful candidate running a hideous campaign in the most anti-Republican election of my lifetime, but he STILL got 47% of the vote. I could not believe it was that close. Could not believe it. This time around, the Cult of Obama has become the Disaster of Obama. This is going to be a different election. Beating an incumbent is always hard, but it hinges on intensity against the incumbent, not for his challenger, and the intensity to remove Obama is exceptionally high, far higher than the intensity in Obama’s base to re-elect him. The only thing that is likely to screw it up is if the GOP nominates a religious zealot or a candidate who routinely appears befuddled and incompetent.

UPDATE: I was chastised by my dear friend, Woodsterman, who accuses me of being a tool of the establishment GOP. Odie stopped short of sinking into that deplorable state of Eeyorehood wherein one declares that Romney as the nominee will bring on another Obama victory. Some even go so far as to say that this would invite a Pantload landslide.

I humbly disagree. Odie, I loves ya like a brother and know that our friendship will not be fractured by such disagreements. And I know that this is the primary season and we must all back those candidates we feel will be the best for whatever reasons. But for those out there who DO lapse into becoming Eeyores, I have this for you: these folks are nothing more than aspirants who would be auditioning for the Randy Quaid role in a remake of Major League II:

Do you not comprehend that Obama was swept into power by people with so-called Bush fatigue and the overspending of by the Rs in Congress? Obama was a cypher, a ghost, a zero running against an old, sclerotic candidate who did almost everything to sabotage his VP running mate and yet was leading until he spazzed out on the handling of the debt crisis. Obama was not vetted by the kneepad wearing, tongue bathing, bum osculating Lame Scream Media who gave him a pass on everything while dumping on Bush, McCain, and savaging Sarah Palin viciously.

Obama now has a record on single-handedly wrecking the economy, destroying relations with our allies abroad while smooching with every spittle-flecked despot on the face of the earth. He has blown two sure victories -- Iraq and Afghanistan -- out his pimple-covered hatchet ass and has weakened our military to the point where the post-Carter's levels would seem like a Reagan-esque buildup. He has paid off cronies, foisted off green jobs as largess to his backers, and otherwise handed the NLRB to big labor on a platter.

His record smells worse than a latrine outside one of those donkey bars in Tijuana, Mexico.

Don't even get me started on his so-called Justice Department. And I have not even mentioned the stimulus and ObamaCare.

So along comes a guy who ran the bluest state in the country as a relatively conservative Republican and seemingly did a good job of it. I'll spare you the litany; I am sure there are points we can debate. . But I am so far disposed to voting and supporting Romney because I believe that he has the tools to make a good president and that he has the best chance of banishing this socialist butt-wipe to the oblivion he belongs.

My number one goal is to see that Obama is defeated.

AS I said and to be fair, this is the primary season and each and every one of us should back the person we feel would make the best president. Santorum, Gingrich, Perry, Huntsman, Paul -- yes, even Ron Paul. If anyone of those are the nominee I will work my ass off to support them -- yes, even Ron Paul. I would expect the same from all of you who dislike what Obama is doing to our country. I suspect Odie feels the same way.

The obscene juxtaposition of the first lady on a $4 million vacation while asking what would have to be middle to low income earners for three bucks – who else would they be targeting with such an appeal? – is yet another example of lack of perspective the Obamas seem to be gaining while in power.

Mrs. Obama takes extravagant vacations to Spain and southern Africa. The president golfs obsessively and is currently dining at Honolulu’s ritziest restaurants. All while asking their fellow Americans to “sacrifice” during this time of not plenty.
And they blow $4 million – mostly taxpayers’ money – on a vacation, while wondering
if the small people can come up with $3. What about renting a beach house next year at the Jersey shore? I mean, if we’re all going to sacrifice.

Tell you what, Keith, if things play out well next year, Moon-Ass and her dipstick hubby will be spending their vacations wading in the shores of Lake Michigan or cavorting in the spray of open fire hydrants in the sweltering Summer streets of Chicago.

Well, just when he thought it was safe to go back in the water, up comes Christmas and yet another period for r'n'r after a blistering pace of on-our-dime-campaigning-disguised-as-POUTS tours, golfing, boogeying at the White House, the customary grind of work-and-responsibility avoidance, and the brain-slaughtering slog of, well, ceaseless vacation planning. So, one would think that our adorable first couple would want to avoid the tin-eared, low-rez optics of past time-off missteps, right?

Nah, not to be, old son.

Turns out this little 17-day stay in our 50th state will set us back a pile.

..research shows the total cost for the President’s visit for taxpayers far exceeded $1.5 million in 2010 – but is even more costly this year because he extended his vacation by three days and the cost for Air Force One travel has jumped since last assessed in 2000.

The total cost (based on what is known) for the 17-day vacation round trip vacation to Hawaii for the President, his family and staff has climbed to more than $4 million.

And that's our nickel, folks.

The obscene details (if you want to really delve into this) are itemized in a recent Honolulu Reporter article. The biggest chunk is, of course, travel and logistics:

The biggest expense is President Barack Obama’s round trip flight to Hawaii via Air Force One, a cost the GAO office estimated at $1 million in the year 2000. Contacted today, the GAO confirmed there is no report the independent office affiliated with Congress has prepared since 2000 to operate Air Force One and Air Force Two. However, the U.S. Air Force provides the most current numbers of $181,757 per flight hour. Travel time for Air Force One direct from Washington D.C. to Hawaii is about 9 hours or $1,635,813 each way for a total of $3,271,622 for the round trip to Hawaii and back.
The cost for USAF C-17 cargo aircraft that transports the Presidential limos, helicopters and other support equipment to Hawaii was not made available. However, the flight time between Andrews Air Force Base and Hawaii is at about 21.5 hours round trip, with estimated operating cost of $12,000 per hour. (Source: GAO report, updated by C-17 crew member). The;United States Marine Corps provides a presidential helicopter, along with pilots and support crews for the test flights, which travel on another C-17 flight. That is $258,000, not including costs for the 4 to 6 member crew's per diem and hotel.

And, no, it seems they did NOT sidestep one of the more serious gaffes attributed to their Martha's Vineyard outing:

Mrs. Obama’s early flight to Hawaii costs about $63,000 (White House Dossier), but add security and personnel for a total of about $100,000.

This is getting to be a nasty habit. I mean, she can't wait around the palatial White House for her husband to finish up the work he has been so studiously avoiding? What's the all-fired rush to convey her ample ass out to beyond where the sun sets?

Look, I know we're supposed to be respectful and all that, but if Moose-Chelle keeps booking these separate flights, I'm gonna keep throwing a flag on it and start stirring up speculation that maybe when she flies with any contingent, there are weight and balance issues with Air Force One.

So looks like as we hunker down in our freezing garrets and basements, heating up our gruel over a candle, and spending hard-earned farthings on modest gifts for the third meager Yule Season under this blithering incompetent, we'll be treated to pictures of him and The Moose out there living the high life and the glistening man-boob pictures as he emerges from body surfing at Makapuu.

John was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets,' and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs. He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.

Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.

John's favorite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all!

When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. To John's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.

John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Saint Lawrence County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well. Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention.

Vote carefully in the next election, the bells are not always audible.

I know, I know..

Well, I have been busy. I was tapped as the new squadron commander of the Long Beach USAF Auxiliary squadron and -- essentially -- my duties commence 1 JAN 2012 but the preparation effort commences almost immediately. (Office of the Squadron Commander-elect?)

And it's the usual drill at work: the black curtain of the all-engulfing proxy server forbids noontime posts to The War Planner just when my political juices are flowing at their best. That is, I have awakened, consumed my morning doughnut (no coffee), worked through my pre-noon bug-slaughtering effort, wolfed down my tuna sammich and Coke (no, the beverage) and Hoovered up all of the news on Drudge, Hot Air, Odie's site, and anyplace else where it's fit to print, begun formulating my daily opinions, rebuttals to the Obama regime propaganda machine (A.K.A., the MSM) and -- wham! -- no access to my site.

Work and life is so-o-o-o-o unfair.

So what's revolting about this post besides my pedestrian prose, you ask?

It's the fact that today the unemployment rate dropped from 9.1% to 8.6% and it is NOT due to the hiring out-of-work-people. It's principally because the city of Pittsburgh has left the work force and decided to stay home.

Huh?

Well, that's 315,000 folks have been out of work so long that they've given up and are no longer considered to be worthy of denominator-hood status thereby making the number into which the people actually working are divided smaller.

You do the math.

For perspective and because I am lazy, Here are some interesting takes on this from Hot Air commenters:

..and all this in a country whose population has grown to over 300 millions.

Goodbye Alice..

It seems I am assailing you all on these pages with glimpses into my personal life, complaining because my schedule will not permit my blogging, etc. I apologize if this borders on the maudlin, but I wanted to say goodbye to a family member here.

Alice, 1997-2011

Back in 1997, I had a growing son and I had some health problems, and -- somehow -- these two factors coalesced into the need/desire to add a puppy to our household. I always lament these decisions because it adds an inevitable day like last Thursday to your life.

Briefly, we resolved to rescue a puppy from an animal shelter here in Southern California and made plans to visit no less than five this one day to survey all of the prospects and repair home to analyze and make a measured decision, etc.

Long story short, in THE VERY FIRST PLACE we walked into, there were two young girls who were dropping off someone they found at a swap meet in Pasadena with her brothers and sisters a week ago. (They had managed to give away all but this one.) She was an adorable little black mixed-breed (mostly Greyhound) who melted our hearts from the very start.

Thus ended our search and Alice -- as she was named by my son --became part of our family.

Since we did not know her official birthday, we backdated her life and ascribed Thanksgiving as the special day. Each year we would have roast beef and she would get the bone as a birthday present. I guess, at first, we eschewed the traditional turkey for a change and then this tradition stuck with us as a coincidental celebration of Alice's birthday.

She was graceful, sleek, could run like the wind (her Greyhound heritage), and spent the better part of her life in good health with a cheerful spirit. Each morning I would wrestle with my son over the necessity of walking and feeding her. Somehow his activities would conspire such that the walking fell to me and the feeding fell to his mom. But it was a duty I undertook, once engaged, with great cheer. And, for the record, when he walked Alice, he did cheerfully for he loved Alice as much as we.

Alice's and my special times were Saturday and Sunday mornings before the others waked up. She and I would go to a local school yard where I would throw a ball to her for a time and then I would sit beneath a tree while she explored the grounds she had staked out many, many times before.

When she reached the absolute farthest point in that yard she could get from me, she would pause from her sniffing and look up. I would wave to her and she would make the maddest dash you would ever see back to me, stopping a few yards short and incessantly barking until I obliged and threw the ball again for her to chase.

When she tired of that, she would come over and quietly sit by me as I read and relaxed. Presently, we would head back home to rejoin the waking family. The picture above is of her on one of those days.

So, after a life that would seemingly go on forever, last Thursday she lay down, coughed a few times and seemingly stretched out to take a nap..

..and was gone.

I took her to a vet to confirm her passing and was assured there was no pain. My son and friends visited her while she was at her final rest and my mom and sisters and sons (who all knew her) all sent their regrets and sorrow, etc. I must conclude that she was loved and will be missed.

But now the loneliness of a Saturday morning without a walk with her closes in and I must write this.

My hope is that when my time comes, I will go to heaven and that there will be sunny days and a schoolyard close by and a nice tree to sit under..

..and a ball to throw to Alice.

Needless to say that this is getting somewhat embarrassing for Jerk-o. Yesterday, The Clown Prince of Chicago had his full JOBS (Just Obama Bull Sh*t) blown away by the Senate in an up-or-down vote, 50-49. The mechanics required a 60-vote majority and the Dems could not get support from the Republicans to get to that number. In fact, it flamed out when two Democrats -- fearing for their seats next year -- voted "No":

While the vast majority of Senate Democrats voted in favor of the president's job plan, a few -- including Ben Nelson of Nebraska and John Tester of Montana -- did not. Tester said, in a prepared statement, that "the things I support in this bill are outweighed by the things I can't support," including "sending billions of dollars in bailout aid to states."

The Senate version of the measure has little chance of clearing the Republican-controlled House of Representatives.

So that ought to stop this idiot's lips from flapping that absurd "Pass this bill" mantra, right?

No, Buckwheat is going to push on now, breaking the bill into small pieces where -- presumably -- his new mantra will be adorned with plurals:

"Pass these bills!"

To be sure, this never was about jobs, it's a campaign strategy and he has now garnered more fodder: it's become a MIRV and he can beat his gums even more about all of these little sub-bills. If he were serious about passing this turkey, he'd be back in D.C. working out compromises with the congressional membership. Instead, he's down in Florida having a beer with some pipe fitters, at his unctuous best oozing whistle-stop slime:

I wanted to get my bets down early on this one. First, here are some pictures of the OWS (Occupy Wall Street) protesters by the London Daily Mail:

The guy in the top picture? s taking a dump on a police car, of course. What would you expect from a protest against the harsh realities by those who believe society owes them something?

Of course, you don't see a lot of pictures of the squalid environs up til now. That has not been the big story, but one suspects the worm is about to turn. They have been in that park for three weeks now and it has gotten weirder and weirder.

And the usual suspects who dissed the Tea Party assemblies as being an astro-turfed assembly of Nazi Terrorist are getting behind these folks. The terminally stupid ex-Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi applauds their spontaneity, and Obama give them shout-outs and winks.

"Far out! What's it called?"

The squalor that these Neo-Comms are now languishing in is reminiscent of that wonderful sequence from the Woodstock movie. (Embedding disabled; go here to enjoy.)

But it appears, slowly, inexorably, remorselessly, the worm is turning. The unkempt masses have become a paria and this little temper tantrum by these indolent, spoiled neo-luddites is being regarded as a noisy, smelly, inconvenient nuisance by the an increasing number. A commendable column by Michael Goodwin of the New York Post nails it dead-sloid-erfect:

Even as desperate Pander-crats, including the president, continue to baby-talk the Wall Street hooligans, some of whom have violently attacked police, Mayor Bloomberg gets the point and tone just right.
“What they’re trying to do is take the jobs away from people working in this city,” the mayor told radio man John Gambling Friday. “And some of the labor unions, the municipal unions that are participating, their salaries come from the taxes paid by the people they are trying to vilify.”
Sanity also comes from readers. Sheri Rosen said she works downtown, at 111 Broadway, and is sick of the filth and mayhem.
“We work very hard every day for not that much money,” she writes. “We don’t camp out at a park and act like animals by urinating and stealing milk from the coffee vendors that are also trying to make a living.”
She blasted Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Comptroller John Liu for supporting the demonstrators, saying, “True New Yorkers who work hard for their money won’t forget this on Election Day.”

By the way, Mr Goodwin precedes these remarks with a chilling main feature of that column entitled "Aimless Obama walks alone" that paints an out-of-touch and incommunicado president who fails to interact with his staff and cabinet in an almost Nixonian manner (citation linked above; emphasis added):

The gist is this: President Obama has become a lone wolf, a stranger to his own government. He talks mostly, and sometimes only, to friend and adviser Valerie Jarrett and to David Axelrod, his political strategist.

Everybody else, including members of his Cabinet, have little face time with him except for brief meetings that serve as photo ops. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner both have complained, according to people who have talked to them, that they are shut out of important decisions.

President Obama has become a lone wolf, a stranger to his own government.

The president’s workdays are said to end early, often at 4 p.m. He usually has dinner in the family residence with his wife and daughters, then retreats to a private office. One person said he takes a stack of briefing books. Others aren’t sure what he does.

If the reports are accurate, and I believe they are, they paint a picture of an isolated man trapped in a collapsing presidency. While there is no indication Obama is walking the halls of the White House late at night, talking to the portraits of former presidents, as Richard Nixon did during Watergate, the reports help explain his odd public remarks.

Obama conceded in one television interview recently that Americans are not “better off than they were four years ago” and said in another that the nation had “gotten a little soft.” Both smacked of a man who feels discouraged and alienated and sparked comparisons to Jimmy Carter, never a good sign.

Blaming the country is political heresy, of course, yet Obama is running out of scapegoats. His allies rarely make affirmative arguments on his behalf anymore, limiting themselves to making excuses for his failure. He and they attack Republicans, George W. Bush, European leaders and Chinese currency manipulation -- and that was just last week.

..these state of affairs -- the OWS post-Woodstock anti-capitalist hippies and the ineffective class warrior POTUS -- are the absolute antithesis of the Skittle-crapping utopia that was predicted by the left when this clown was inaugurated.

And, if The Pantload starts retreating any more into his bunker, can one of those You Tube Hitler parodies be too far behind?

In the wake (forgive the pun) of Steve Jobs passing, here are some tips about new technology pitfalls from my high-school friend, Tom, who is a retired Georgia detective:

NOT A JOKE
And in addition to the GPS information below. A friend of a friend left their car in the long-term parking at San Jose while away, and someone broke into the car. Using the information on the car's registration in the glove compartment, they drove the car to the people's home in Pebble Beach and robbed it. So I guess if we are going to leave the car in long-term parking, we should not leave the registration/insurance cards in it. NOW HEAR THIS...NOT ALL THIEVES ARE STUPID....MAYBE..???

While we're on the subject of new technology, Tom's e-mail adds:

GPS
A couple of weeks ago a friend told me that someone she knew had their car broken into while they were at a football game. Their car was parked on the green which was adjacent to the football stadium and specially allotted to football fans. Things stolen from the car included a garage door remote control, some money and a GPS which had been prominently mounted on the dashboard. When the victims got home, they found that their house had been ransacked and just about everything worth anything had been stolen. The thieves had used the GPS to guide them to the house. They then used the garage remote control to open the garage door and gain entry to the house. The thieves knew the owners were at the football game, they knew what time the game was scheduled to finish and so they knew how much time they had to clean out the house. It would appear that they had brought a truck to empty the house of its contents.

Something to consider if you have a GPS - don't put your home address in it... Put a nearby address (like a store or gas station) so you can still find your way home if you need to, but no one else would know where you live if your GPS were stolen.

..and since we're on a roll..

MOBILE PHONES
I never thought of this.

This lady has now changed her habit of how she lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit card, wallet... Etc...was stolen. 20 minutes later when she called her hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says 'I received your text asking about our Pin number and I've replied a little while ago.' When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money was already withdrawn. The thief had actually used the stolen cell phone to text 'hubby' in the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from their bank account.

Moral of the lesson: Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your contact list.

Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, Sweetheart, Dad, Mom, etc....

And very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked through texts, CONFIRM by calling back.

Also, when you're being texted by friends or family to meet them somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that the message came from them. If you don't reach them, be very careful about going places to meet 'family and friends' who text you..

..just a couple of thoughts.

BLINDING EPIPHANY UPDATE: As to the second point, I just realized that I live a pretty hefty stones throw from the local Police department but it's on the way, nonetheless. So perhaps I'll just change my GPS "home" location to the FVPD. And, while I'm at it, maybe change my default home phone number to theirs as well.

The point of changing the phone number, you ask? Well, police can access cell records and that includes a location of the phone. (Trust me on this one, I am in the business of search-and-rescue and we've used that data a lot.)

Here is an excerpt from a piece in The Hill about how Obama's opposition is growing and "hardening". Find the Pope in the pizza. Hint: emphasis added.

Four in 10 Americans "strongly" disapprove of how the president is handling his job, up from 28 percent at the start of the year. Obama's disapproval rating has steadily grown since the beginning of the year as the economy has stalled.

Obama's troubling numbers can be partially attributed to the loss of independents. Forty-three percent of those not affiliated by party strongly disapprove of the job he has been doing. The president has also struggled with the elderly — 47 percent of those over 65 years of age strongly disapprove of his job performance.

Signs point to true dissatisfaction with the president's performance, rather than greater polarization between those who love and hate the president. Only 21 percent of those polled strongly approve of the job the president is doing, down from 20 percent in January. Only 43 percent of Democrats strongly approve of Obama's job performance.

Those of you who don't see the flaw will have their weekly chocolate rations raised from 30 grams to 25 grams per week..

Frankly, this drawn out melodrama with Christie and Palin is so-o-o-o-o-o beyond tedious. Personally, I feel it's gonna be ROMNEY/CAIN (or RUBIO) with Perry put in charge of immigration. (It's a joke, folks.)

I am not happy about the prospect of Romney -- he is a squishy wuss (although he does have great hair) -- but polls are beginning to show that fewer and fewer people are inclined to perpetuate this lunacy called The Obama Administration. The disaffection with this clown is growing rampant and his stupidity and tone deafness are beginning to seal the deal.

Of late I have become enamored of Herman Cain. His straightforward answers to questions asked is a refreshing change form the tap-dancers, soft-shoe artists, and outright dissemblers that pass for politicians these days. (Watch an interview with him sometime and notice how many "Yes/No" questions asked of him have an answer that starts with either "Yes" or "No".)

I'll spare you the usual recapitulation of his being a simple, man-of-the-people, businessperson save to say his background makes me feel that he is more of "us" than "them". I would not be heartbroken if he were on the ticket; he certainly deserves a place in the new administration. He should be the head janitor.

forgive me for saying this as it sounds offensive but I mean it in the nicest possible way. He should be put in charge of the massive task of sweeping all of the bullsh*t out of Government and keeping the succeeding administration real and their bargain with the electorate real.

It will be a Herculean labor this cleaning if the Augean stables, but the wonderful, direct Mr Cain can handle it.

But until this eventuates and that turd Obama is consigned to circling the bowl, we have a momentous task ahead of us and we need to it right soon for the change is at hand. In fact, the way some states are leap-frogging their primaries, we may very well have the New Hampshire primary this afternoon at 3:30 PM.

Our labor, however, should not be mirthless and without joy. Victor Davis Hanson wrote a piece yesterday called The Coming Post-Obama Renaissance whwerein he describes the joy of throwing off this depressing burden we have been saddled with the last two-and-three-quarter years:

We are living in an age of such morality tales, though the depressing cycle reminds us that the gloom is hardly fiction or artistry. For those with a little capital there is only a sinking stock market. It seems to wipe out more of their 401(k)s each week, as if each month cancels out yet another year of prior thrift. Near zero interest means any money on deposit is only insurance, not any more a source of income. Millions are trapped in their unsold houses, either underwater or facing an end to any dreams of tapping equity by sale.
...
In response, the Obama administration — let me be candid here — seems clueless, overpopulated as it is by policy nerds, academic overachievers, and tenured functionaries (cf. Larry Summers’ “there is no adult in charge”). They tend to flash Ivy League certificates, but otherwise have little record of achievement in the private sector. Officials seem to think that long ago test scores, a now Neolithic nod from an Ivy League professor, or a past prize translates into knowing what makes America run in places like Idaho and southern Michigan.

I would love to appropriate the entire column so you could read it here, but heartily advocate your taking time to read it in it's entirety. He, in essence, concludes that we have much to look forward to:

I, like many, am worried about the Republican field — as is the custom at this early stage. There is more to be endured in 2012. The Obama decline will spark venomous politics of the sort we haven’t seen in years. This time hope and change will be even more “Bush did it!/’You’re all racists!/“They” will take your Social Security.” The financial crisis is not over. We are not yet at the beginning of the end for statism, but the Churchillian end of its new beginning.

Still, let us cheer up a bit. The country always knew, but for just a bit forgot, that you cannot print money and borrow endlessly. It always knew that bureaucrats were less efficient than employers. It knew that Guantanamo was not a gulag and Iraq was not “lost.” But given the anguish over Iraq, the anger at Bush, the Obama postracial novelty and “centrist” façade, and the Freddie/Fannie/Wall Street collapse, it wanted to believe what it knew might not be true. Now three years of Obama have slapped voters out of their collective trance.

The spell has now passed; and we are stronger for its passing. There is going to be soon a sense of relief that we have not experienced in decades. In short, sadder but wiser Americans will soon be turned loose with a vigor unseen in decades.

EBT is currently used in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Guam.

Recipients of public assistance in California access their issued benefits with the Golden State Advantage EBT card. The cardholder simply slides this card through a point-of-sale (POS) device, or uses the card at an automated teller machine (ATM). The card is convenient, secure, and reduces the stigma sometimes associated with public assistance.

The positive effects of EBT in California extend beyond the cardholder. Others who benefit include federal, state, and county governments, retailers, financial institutions, and taxpayers. EBT food and cash aid benefits can be redeemed at more than 80,000 locations in California.

(I was going to hang it up for a while but the most recent flood of diarrhea to come out of that pathetic joke we have for a president has goaded me into one last post for a while).

In a continuing trend of seeking excuses, blaming others, and generally alibiing his way around the fact that he sucks at his job, Obama appeared in a television interview this evening where he was quoted as saying that he feels America's gotten too soft:

"I mean, there are a lot of things we can do," Obama said. "The way I think about it is, you know, this is a great, great country that had gotten a little soft and, you know, we didn't have that same competitive edge that we needed over the last couple of decades. We need to get back on track."

Perhaps it's because we have a president who spends the better part of his time in office complaining about how things are not his fault and how he had a big sack of crap handed to him.

Could this be The Pantload's Malaise Speech?

Well, whatever. This is the last straw, as far as I am concerned. Basically, he and his ass-clown administration have bent this country's economy over, spent us into the poor house, given out billions of our tax money to his union thug cronies and big business campaign bundlers in the form of loans, grants, and outright political payoffs, butt-smooched every tin-horn dictator and brigand while flushing our allies down the drain, and now this son-of-a-bitch has the nerve to say we've gotten soft?

Well, old son, we'll show you how soft we've become when we throw your sorry ass and that voluminously-butted, lobster-gorging, lavish-vacation-taking, hairy wookie FLOTUS you are stapled to out into the the of Pennsylvania Avenue next year.

Recent professional and personal events have conspired to demand what spare time I have. I am engaged in a new project at work that will require almost superhuman diligence on my part to accomplish. (Note that means superhuman for me; you folks probably would not have to break a sweat.)

I realize that we are under no obligation to alibi our absences, but I wanted to be respectful and courteous to my visitors/readers ~~ All ten of you.

Besides, I am just too overcome emotionally to continue blogging here for the short term as I await with unmitigated anxiety the resolution of Hugo Chavez's health crisis. I fear this guy is on his last legs and I need to mentally and physically prepare myself for mourning his loss.

When did you ever see anyone get fatter when they underwent chemo?

Should the unthinkable eventuate, I wanted to hold an honorary wake in his memory and invite all of you to join me at Silky Sullivan's in Fountain Valley, California where me might ~~celebrate~~ observe his passing.

Obama gave speeches at the U.N., met with Netanyahu, and gave a speech to the CBC within the last week. Kinda funny that he got dis'ed by the Jewish vote in NY-06 and Maxine Waters within the last several weeks.

You can look up the actual video on CNN but be advised that it is a contest to see who is more annoying -- the condescending actor in those annoying Expedia lead-in commercials or The Chicago Pantload with his revival-meeting, ghetto-speak, hip-hop, g-droppin' patois. Let's just say it's like knocking back to substantial slugs of ipecac. Have a barf bag handy. Better yet, have two!

Quitting Winners..

I was listening to Mary Katherine Ham on a morning show this morning when John Fund called in with his thoughts about the Dick Turner victory in NY-9. The audio below is interesting listening. John speculates that a committee of prominent Democrats might go to Obama in "a couple or three" months -- if the economy were still mired as it is now -- and confront him, requesting he consider stepping down or not running:

This put me in mind of the truly extraordinary era I have been privileged to live. Born in 1945, I barely squeezed into the end of FDR's regime, thereby experiencing a president dying in office. When I was a little older I and my peers endured the insufferable agony of having John F. Kennedy taken away from us with an assassin's bullet.

A side note here: while I liked him then, I do believe JFK was mortal and he would have added the mismanagement of Viet Nam and other warts to his botching of the Bay of Pigs fiasco, etc. But I digress.

Soon after that, his successor, Lyndon Baines Johnson, ("LBJ" or "El B.J." as we called him) rolled over Goldwater and then opted out of his second term:

All us college kids -- both on the left and the right -- hated this guy and were happy to see him go. But, except for the fact that he ran the entire Viet Nam war by himself (and bragged about it), he knew his way around Washington and where the bodies were buried.

So chalk one up for a president giving up a second term when he was a shoo-in.

His successor, Dick Nixon just flat resigned in office. I won't bore you with the details; I am sure you all know this anyway. However, in hunting for the resignation speech on You Tube, I came across this interesting clip. It is the moments before Nixon gave that speech and it is surprising in how seemingly carefree and jovial he was:

From thence, it was pretty conventional until November 2000. That election took us almost a month of waiting before we knew who Clinton's successor would be. Boy was that a time -- and every time I htink about the 175 or so votes that gave us George W. Bush and what Al "ManBearPig" Gore has become, I just get down on my knees in thanks.

So, since 1945, the presidency has been a pretty turbulent affair: a death, an assassination, a foregone term, a resignation, an election controversy, and then this sorry piece of work in office now. I gotta tell you that I would not mind at all having the Chicago Jesus pull an "LBJ" or -- better yet -- a "Nixon".

For the record and in case you've just come back from a vacation on Mars, it was probably THE safest district in NYC, being Chuckie Schumer's and, until he unzipped his pants and tweeted his tweeter all over the internet, Anthony "the" Weiner. It was a district that Obama took 55% of the votes and HAD NOT BEEN IN REPUBLICAN HANDS SINCE 1922.

For this absolutely delusional assertion, Ms Schitz gets the Beetlejuice spin award:

It is a looped (replayed) segment of THE WIDE LOAD FLOTUS making some smirking comment to her PANTLOAD spouse during the 9/11 ceremonies this past Sunday. The smirking expression on MOO's face coupled with a a few people attempting to decipher what she was saying leads to this explanation over on native You Tube:

Michelle Obama says something about the flag to BO and then smirks and shakes her head. What is it she is saying?

Some lip readers are saying she says - "all that for a flag?"

The ceremony beforehand included a choir singing and bagpipe playing before unfurling a tattered US flag.

..woe betide this woman if there is ever a confirmation or any audio on this event.

UPDATE: I posted a new -- hopefully more clear -- video of the incident. A lot of the controversy rages over whether she said what she said or not -- of course. But a number of people have pointed out that the expressions, scowls, and shaking of her head from side to side was enough to evince disrespect for the ceremony and the solemnity of the occasion.

The Years of Shame
Is it just me, or are the 9/11 commemorations oddly subdued?
Actually, I don’t think it’s me, and it’s not really that odd.
What happened after 9/11 — and I think even people on the right know this, whether they admit it or not — was deeply shameful. Te atrocity should have been a unifying event, but instead it became a wedge issue. Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.
A lot of other people behaved badly. How many of our professional pundits — people who should have understood very well what was happening — took the easy way out, turning a blind eye to the corruption and lending their support to the hijacking of the atrocity?
The memory of 9/11 has been irrevocably poisoned; it has become an occasion for shame. And in its heart, the nation knows it.
I’m not going to allow comments on this post, for obvious reasons.

Krugman may not allow comments to his post, but I will. Please unload in this chicken-fornicating son-of-a-bitch if you like. To the gentler, more sensitive visitors to this blog, I issue a harsh language alert: read at your own risk.

FACT CHECK: Obama's jobs plan paid for? Seems not

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama's promise Thursday that everything in his jobs plan will be paid for rests on highly iffy propositions.

It will only be paid for if a committee he can't control does his bidding, if Congress puts that into law and if leaders in the future - the ones who will feel the fiscal pinch of his proposals - don't roll it back.

Underscoring the gravity of the nation's high employment rate, Obama chose a joint session of Congress, normally reserved for a State of the Union speech, to lay out his proposals. But if the moment was extraordinary, the plan he presented was conventional Washington rhetoric in one respect: It employs sleight-of-hand accounting.

A look at some of Obama's claims and how they compare with the facts:

OBAMA: "Everything in this bill will be paid for. Everything."

THE FACTS: Obama did not spell out exactly how he would pay for the measures contained in his nearly $450 billion American Jobs Act but said he would send his proposed specifics in a week to the new congressional supercommittee charged with finding budget savings. White House aides suggested that new deficit spending in the near term to try to promote job creation would be paid for in the future - the "out years," in legislative jargon - but they did not specify what would be cut or what revenues they would use.

Essentially, the jobs plan is an IOU from a president and lawmakers who may not even be in office down the road when the bills come due. Today's Congress cannot bind a later one for future spending. A future Congress could simply reverse it.

Currently, roughly all federal taxes and other revenues are consumed in spending on various federal benefit programs, including Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, veterans' benefits, food stamps, farm subsidies and other social-assistance programs and payments on the national debt. Pretty much everything else is done on credit with borrowed money.

So there is no guarantee that programs that clearly will increase annual deficits in the near term will be paid for in the long term.

OBAMA: "Everything in here is the kind of proposal that's been supported by both Democrats and Republicans, including many who sit here tonight."

THE FACTS: Obama's proposed cut in the Social Security payroll tax does seem likely to garner significant GOP support. But Obama proposes paying for the plan in part with tax increases that have already generated stiff Republican opposition.

For instance, Obama makes a pitch anew to end Bush-era tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, which he has defined as couples earning over $250,000 a year or individuals over $200,000 a year. Republicans have adamantly blocked what they view as new taxes. As recently as last month, House Republicans refused to go along with any deal to raise the government's borrowing authority that included new revenues, or taxes.

OBAMA: "It will not add to the deficit."

THE FACTS: It's hard to see how the program would not raise the deficit over the next year or two because most of the envisioned spending cuts and tax increases are designed to come later rather than now, when they could jeopardize the fragile recovery. Deficits are calculated for individual years. The accumulation of years of deficit spending has produced a national debt headed toward $15 trillion. Perhaps Obama meant to say that, in the long run, his hoped-for programs would not further increase the national debt, not annual deficits.

OBAMA: "The American Jobs Act answers the urgent need to create jobs right away."

THE FACTS: Not all of the president's major proposals are likely to yield quick job growth if adopted. One is to set up a national infrastructure bank to raise private capital for roads, rail, bridges, airports and waterways. Even supporters of such a bank doubt it could have much impact on jobs in the next two years because it takes time to set up. The idea is likely to run into opposition from some Republicans who say such a bank would give the federal government too much power. They'd rather divide money among existing state infrastructure banks.

Sarah versus the A.B.Os

..this ain't me; this is from Drudge today.

Kingjester is another conscience of conservatism, a gentleman from Mississippi who writes thoughtfully about all that is right with this philosophy and all that is wrong with The Chicago Jesus and his ilk. The hallmark of his posts are careful attribution, citation, and a good degree of wit. The blog is, by any account, entertaining and informative reading.

However -- and this is not a "however" in the usual sense -- KJ advocates for Sarah Palin and I fear that these sentiments may cloud reason ~~ not KJ's, but most others who would become resentful if Palin enters the GOP race and does not garner the nomination.

My regular hangout -- Hot Air -- sees these wars being raged and the sniping has become vicious. Too many times there are those who comment "I will stay home if Romney wins the nomination" or even "I will vote for Obama rather than give a RINO my vote".

To that end, on a recent post he did on Sarah Palin's Iowa speech, I commented as follows over on his blog:

For the record, I am a Sarah Palin fan -- not a Palinista, a fan -- but I believe her value to this campaign is not as nominee or commander-in-chief but rather as voice of the conscience of conservatism.

Her hesitancy to declare (or to declare NOT) is becoming tedious and I suspect has already damaged her reputation. There is poll after poll pointing out how she will lose to Obama and Republicans and conservatives say they would never vote for her, etc. (The latter citation is an old Quinnipiac poll; I could not find a reference to the most recent one that stated some 70-plus percent expressed similar feelings.)

Also for the record, I am very conservative, worked my tail off for Palin (not McCain) in 2008, and will do so again if she is the nominee. But at this juncture I and many are ABO (Anybody But Obama) voters and we will also work equally hard for Perry or Bachmann -- even Romney.

It's nice to have the luxury of principles when there is no threat to this country but these are not such times. What that incompetent boob has wrought with his clown troupe administration and accomplices in Congress is criminal and another four years of this will see the destruction of this country.

Doubt me? How about the historical first of the credit downgrade and the unending string of unemployment figures and low job creation numbers -- culminating in the 0.0 this past month?

Not carping; I am just another poor slob in the crowd who believes this country needs saving.

Believe me, I do not condone nor approve of the GOP offerings like Dole or McCain -- particularly in these times -- but I do fear the prospect of another four years of this bumbling incompetence and downright leftist agenda. As stated above, I will work for whomever wins the nomination but it is my belief that Ms Palin -- as dynamic and as vivacious as she is -- would provide the other side with a lot of negative campaign material and would bring disaffection and disappointment to us in 2012.

She is a darling and has a history of eventually winning all of her battles, but her place in this fight is to help us win the Presidency and the Congress.

Just so you know what's up, ladies and gentlemen, these pictures were taken in The Oval Office. It has been the official work place of The President of the United States since John Adams first occupied it in 1800. It has seen the likes of the Adamses, Jefferson, Jackson, Lincoln, Grant, the Roosevelts, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, the Bushes and Clinton.

It is now being treated with disrespect by its current occupant, Barack Obama who apparently does not give a flying crap for the history and tradition of the office ~~ in both senses of the phrase.

Along with the other furniture that this classless boor has a fondness for placing his feet upon, there is the centerpiece of the Oval Office: The Resolute Desk. It does not have the history nor tradition of The Oval Office. Nonetheless, it is the sacred property of the people of the United States of America and were I president I would certainly keep my shoes off it.

Moreover, I would be sure to dress and act like the chief executive of the greatest country in the world instead of some refugee from a third-world toilet or former poverty-stricken, inner-city denizen.

The jobs numbers were as bad as it could get for Obama and the economy. I mean, you can't create less than zero jobs can you? That is, you can fire people, you can lay them off, but you just cannot can't create less than zero jobs! Did you ever see a sign out in front of your workplace saying,in effect, "We're hiring. -5 Job Openings. Inquire Inside!"

Neither did I.

Anyway, it was so bad that The Chicago Jesus slinked out of town before sun-up to duck the press. He literally boarded Marine One and made his get-away when the landing site at Camp David was below minimums and there was a weather advisory:

In a highly unusual maneuver, President Obama’s 30 minute flight to the Presidential mountain retreat at Camp David this afternoon was diverted to an undisclosed landing near Frederick, Maryland and a motorcade assembled to drive him to the nearby site. White House press secretary Jay Carney tells ABC News a “bad weather call” was made before the President and his younger daughter Sasha even boarded the aircraft.

Carney says they have now arrived safely at Camp David. It remains unexplained why the President would be allowed to board Marine One knowing that the landing site on the mountain was experiencing weather making a landing difficult.

The press first learned of the diversion when wire agency still photographers, who traditionally stand by at Camp David for news coverage in case of an emergency, were told by the military at the mountain top Marine base that the President would be motorcading.

One wonders if THE WIDE LOAD FLOTUS would be making the trip four hours later in a separate USMC CH-53? Also, why didn't he just jump into a limo and do the who trip by car instead of taking Marine One to some off-field landing site, ginning up a motorcade (which you know originated in D.C.) to drive there, and then drive to Camp David.

He must be in love with the trappings of power and be desperate to flee the probing questions.

But nothing ceases to amaze about this clown. It was disclosed this afternoon that his heralded, earth-stopping speech that he just absolutely, positively make before a joint session of Congress would not contain the entirety of his so-called economic ~~plan~~ outline:

Aides say Thursday’s speech will be part of a bigger plan the White House will roll out throughout the fall with the president hitting the road for speeches and town hall appearances. Aides have already confirmed that Obama will be traveling to California, Colorado, and Washington state for one three-day swing later this month that will include economic events as well as some fund raising.

The move could be a way to try and lower the stakes for Thursday’s Joint Session appearance, but it could also be an attempt by the administration to show the president is trying to stay all over the economy heading into what will likely be an uphill re-election battle.

“There’s no question the president will want to keep returning to jobs,” one top aide told Fox News. “I don’t want to downplay the speech [next week] — it’s going to be substantial. But the idea that this is the be-all and end-all is wrong.”One scenario being discussed by White House aides is the president highlighting individual economic proposals at appearances around the country throughout the Fall, just as the Republican presidential candidates are ramping up the sales pitch for their own economic proposals.

Swell.

So The Craven Coward not only slips out of town to avoid commenting to the press on the putrid job numbers, but he also spent 10 days on Martha's Vineyard only playing golf and motorcading around the island visiting his cronies instead of working on his ~~plan~~ outline.

Now that isn't even done!

Christ! He's like some kid in college who fritters away a Winter vacation and now has to pull an all-nighter on the Sunday before class to complete a 50-page term paper. And when that doesn't work, he shows up in class and hands the prof chapter one explaining, "I'll be turning in chapter two next Monday and the following chapters in subsequent weeks."

..which reminds me; how's that effort to get him to release his college transcripts coming?

AFTERTHOUGHT UPDATE: Another aggravating thought occurred to me. He's making a swing through the nation to pitch the remainder of his pathetic plan at the same time the GOP candidates are "ramping up the sales pitch for their own economic proposals"? And it's going to be interspersed with fundraisers? Sure as hell sounds to me like he's campaigning for President on our nickel.

..well, he's finally done it! Obama's finally lived up to (one of) his nicknames: Zero.

He and his merry band of shit-wits and his cronies in the congress have beaten this economy into the ground so badly that it's faint pulse has ceased. The August jobs report is a big fat zero.

I am too dispirited to write. Here are some quotes from the underlying article:

o The government also reported that the unemployment rate remained at 9.1 percent. It was the weakest jobs report since September 2010.

o The weakness in employment was underscored by revisions to the jobs data for June and July. Collectively, those figures were lowered to show 58,000 fewer jobs added. The downward revisions were all in government jobs.

o The average work week also declined and hourly earnings fell by 3 cents to $23.09.

o Weak growth, Standard&Poor's downgrade of long-term U.S. debt in early August and a sell-off on Wall Street likely kept some businesses from hiring.

o With job creation stalled and wages declining, consumers won't see much gain in incomes. That will limit their ability to spend, which undercuts growth. Consumer spending accounts for about 70 percent of the economy.

o "The stagnation in U.S. payroll employment is an ominous sign," said Paul Ashworth, an economist at Capital Economics. "The broad message is that even if the US economy doesn't start to contract again, any expansion is going to be very, very modest and fall well short of what would be needed to drive the still elevated unemployment rate lower."

o No growth in hiring puts more pressure on President Barack Obama, who will deliver a rare address to a joint session of Congress next week to introduce a plan for creating jobs.

o The Obama administration has estimated that unemployment will average about 9 percent next year, when Obama will run for re-election. The rate was 7.8 percent when Obama took office.

o The White House Office of Management and Budget projects overall growth of only 1.7 percent this year.

o The economy needs to add roughly 250,000 jobs a month to rapidly bring down the unemployment rate, which has been above 9 percent in all but two months since May 2009.

o In August, the private sector added 17,000 jobs, the fewest since February 2010. That compares with 156,000 in July and 75,000 in June.

o Hiring fell across many different sectors. Manufacturers cut 3,000 jobs, its first decline since October 2010. Construction companies, retailers, and transportation firms also cut workers.

o The health care industry added 30,000 jobs last month.

o The economy expanded at an annual pace of only 0.7 percent in the first six months of the year. That was the slowest six months of growth since the recession officially ended in June 2009.

o In August, consumer confidence fell to its lowest level since April 2009, according to the Conference Board.

o Most economists forecast that growth may improve to about a 2 percent annual rate in the July-September quarter. But that's not fast enough to generate many jobs.

His temper tantrums and mishandling of the so-called debt-crisis, his tone-deaf three-day Canadian bus tour, his even more tone-deaf vacation to Martha's Vineyard, his posturing photo-op at the FEMA/NHC/whatever HQ in the wake of that intense morning dew that struck the Eastern Seaboard with its 45-kt zephyrs, the massively-hardware-supported three-minute oratory to introduce his new "Clunker-for-Clunkers" czar, and now, we all breathlessly await his impending pronuncimiento on his ~~new~~...~~newer~~...newest ~~plan~~...outline on how he will pivot with lazer-like focus on THE JOBS PROBLEM.

This bumbling sequence of incompetent missteps is not enough? He will follow this with a watered-down, Kumbay-ya, politically-correct observance of all of the A-RAB MOOZ-LEMS who perished in, and because of the tragedy that occurred a decade ago and ranks as one of the worst transgressions against Americans on American soil..

..with a "shout out" to those brave American civilians, soldiers, sailors, airmen, and first responders who spilled their blood and have given their all that day and the following 3,654 days since.

Be advised that I am not so much writing this post but flagrantly purloining most of it from The Beltway's recent Campaign 2012 article on President Downgrade's recent announcement of his new chairmen of economic advisers. Another little bookmark in the chronicle of how woefully inadequate this man is.

Put another way, I am sure most of us could stand up uin frnt of an audience and make a three-minute announcement more or less extemporaneously -- and with out of a teleprompter.

So tell me, Kool-aid drinking bum osculator, how accomplished The ~~Light~~ Crap-Bringer is.

CRAP! THE FLASH-BRINGER CAUSING OCEANS TO RECEDE..

Sometimes a post just jumps right up and bites you right in the butt. That seems to be the case when The ~~Light~~ Crap-Bringer visited the FEMA or NOAA or whatever command center to sit in on the monitoring of ~~Hurricane~~ ~~Tropical Storm~~ ~~Rainstorm~~ Heavy Drizzle Irene that has lashed the East Coast with ~~80-mile-an-hour~~ intense zephyrs Saturday.

Yahoo News did an article entitled "Obama takes charge at hurricane command center" that was singular in the tongue-bathing given to this putz for his decisive action and command presence. A sample:

Obama on Saturday chaired a meeting at the National Response Coordination Center (NRCC) set up at the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) headquarters in Washington, which is marshaling federal and local hurricane-relief efforts.

"This is going to be a tough slog getting through this thing," Obama said during a video teleconference including senior federal officials and local government agencies in the east coast path of Irene.

"It's going to be a long 72 hours. Obviously a lot of families are going to be affected ... the biggest concern I'm having right now has to do with flooding and power," Obama said during the videoconference.

"(It) sounds like that's going to be an enormous strain on a lot of states" that could last days, or even longer in some cases, he said.

Now it can be argued "better safe than sorry" and thus far, eleven deaths have been attributed to this storm. But, even as early as Saturday morning it was apparent that this Storm was winding down drastically.

..oh, it did pick up some intensity when it came ashore over New Jersey and New York City, but that was probably due to the hurricane-force winds coming out of Shep and Geraldo and all of the other cable media types trying to hype this into it's former glory for the sake of ratings.

However, despite the Yahoo article's sequined knee-pad job on Obama's attempt to Out-Katrina Bush, the readers weren't buying it. The comments were almost universally cynical, acerbic, and derisive. A sample:

Thank Alla that we have a truly fearless leader who is not afraid to stand in the face of Hurricanepalooza, give a speech, and make the godless storm move away from his voting base. I wish that I could bear his child.

Ah, the old days when you read articles in newspapers (remember them?) that were somehow special so you clipped them out and carried them around in your wallet next to your spending cash (remember that?) and other sundries.

I have two I have clipped and saved -- electronically -- that I drag up from time to time and re-read to my everlasting pleasure. The other one is a recent post by by Ed Morrissey over at Hot Air. It is a dissection of the liberal meme that Obama inherited the mess he was in. It can be found here and I recommend you commit this to memory in the event you engage one of those insufferable Kool-aid drinkers and wish to cause the scales to fall from his or her eyes.

(I know, I know, don't try to teach a pig to sing..)

This one -- I remember reading this and others on the same subject -- was written in November 2008 and expresses the joy and elation all on the left (and a few soon-to-be-disillusioned in the middle) felt over the election of Obama and the exasperation at the gathering storm of economic gloom.

I have quoted pretty much THE ENTIRE COLUMN to save your having to jump and also to preserve the structure. Just for kicks, it's edited a bit ~~ but it needed surprisingly little changing. Try substituting "Obama" for "Bush" in the article and see if that works out as well for you as it does for me.

The United States is facing its greatest financial catastrophe in almost 80 years. With shares crashing, houses foreclosing and banks vanishing into thin air, the time for competent governance is of paramount importance.

Instead, the United States is headed by a C+ student whose only qualification seems to be running several businesses into the ground. George Bush is without a shadow of a doubt the most incompetent leader of any western democracy in modern history, and has failed in just about every aspect of his presidency. He has utterly failed to occupy the countries he has invaded, ignored the most pressing issue of our time -- global warming, allowed the country's infrastructure to collapse, run the economy into the ground and destroyed his own party from the inside.

Why is this man still president? Forget the massive crimes he has committed, his incredible incompetence trumps everything else. The world's economy is literally hanging on a thread, and the last person you would want to lead the way out of the crisis is the person who bumbled his way into it.

Bush is a lame duck president, no question about it. He ~~has only a couple of months left and~~ has no serious sway with his party any more. The economic mess is something that requires new leadership, and it is of vital urgency that Bush gets out of the way.

Perhaps Bush could do one decent thing in his presidency: Resign, and walk away gracefully. His legacy can't get any worse, and he may do himself a favor by putting the country in front of his ego. His sins will not be forgiven, but he will be remembered less harshly for the abomination his presidency has represented.

If Bush walks now, the crisis won't be solved, but it will send a message to the world that America is serious again. Serious about practical, non ideological solutions to the many, many problems we face, and serious about putting itself on the right track. It would be symbolic, but the right symbol at the right time can do the world of good. Markets need calming, and people need reassurance. Bush cannot do this, and the consequences this time are far too serious to ignore. He must go, and he must go now.

Funny how the more things change, the more they stay the same, innit?.

Is it any wonder that American business is dying? Is it any surprise that China and India (not to mention several European nations, Asia et al.) are eclipsing the United States in entrepreneurial activity, wealth creation and business friendliness?

A story like this tells us everything that is wrong with the federal government:

(WSJ) (Memeo) Federal agents swooped in on Gibson Guitar Wednesday, raiding factories and offices in Memphis and Nashville, seizing several pallets of wood, electronic files and guitars. The Feds are keeping mum, but in a statement yesterday Gibson's chairman and CEO, Henry Juszkiewicz, defended his company's manufacturing policies, accusing the Justice Department of bullying the company. "The wood the government seized Wednesday is from a Forest Stewardship Council certified supplier," he said, suggesting the Feds are using the aggressive enforcement of overly broad laws to make the company cry uncle.

In 2009 the Feds seized several guitars and pallets of wood from a Gibson factory, and both sides have been wrangling over the goods in a case with the delightful name "United States of America v. Ebony Wood in Various Forms."

....But with the new raid, the government seems to be questioning whether some wood sourced from India met every regulatory jot and tittle.

Cross an international border with an instrument made of that now-restricted wood, and you better have correct and complete documentation proving the age of the instrument. Otherwise, you could lose it to a zealous customs agent—not to mention face fines and prosecution.

Potentially illegal Indian ebony wood? Give me a friggin' break.

Consider the recent experience of Pascal Vieillard, whose Atlanta-area company, A-440 Pianos, imported several antique Bösendorfers. Mr. Vieillard asked officials at the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species how to fill out the correct paperwork—which simply encouraged them to alert U.S. Customs to give his shipment added scrutiny.

There was never any question that the instruments were old enough to have grandfathered ivory keys. But Mr. Vieillard didn't have his paperwork straight when two-dozen federal agents came calling.

Facing criminal charges that might have put him in prison for years, Mr. Vieillard pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of violating the Lacey Act, and was handed a $17,500 fine and three years probation.

The delicious irony here is that a lot of musicians -- and creative musical types -- are raging libs that vote in ludicrous gunpoint-enforced laws like this.

Now, when their houses are raided (or companies) and they face airport coercion and molestation, they know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of government largess.

..the London Daily Mail has an article out on the absolutely obscene lifestyle preferred by our beloved WIDE LOAD FLOTUS and it is a rather searing indictment of her tone-deaf excesses -- a lot of it on our nickel.

The Obamas' summer break on Martha's Vineyard has already been branded a PR disaster after the couple arrived four hours apart on separate government jets.

But according to new reports, this is the least of their extravagances.

White House sources today claimed that the First Lady has spent $10 million of U.S. taxpayers' money on vacations alone in the past year.

Branding her "disgusting" and "a vacation junkie", they say the 47-year-old mother-of-two has been indulging in five-star hotels, where she splashes out on expensive massages and alcohol.

The "top source" told the National Enquirer: 'It's disgusting. Michelle is taking advantage of her privileged position while the most hardworking Americans can barely afford a week or two off work.

The First Lady is believed to have taken 42 days of holiday in the past year, including a $375,000 break in Spain and a four-day ski trip to Vail, Colorado, where she spent $2,000 a night on a suite at the Sebastian hotel.

And the first family's nine-day stay in Martha's Vineyard is also proving costly, with rental of the Blue Heron Farm property alone costing an estimated $50,000 a week.

The source continued goes on:

"Michelle also enjoys drinking expensive booze during her trips. She favours martinis with top-shelf vodka and has a taste for rich sparking wines.

"The vacations are totally Michelle's idea. She's like a junkie. She can't schedule enough getaways, and she lives from one to the next - all the while sticking it to hardworking Americans."

While the President and his wife do pay for some of their personal expenses from their own pocket, the website whitehousedossier.com says that the amount paid by the couple is 'dwarfed by the overall cost to the public'.

The magazine also reported that Mrs Obama, whose fashion choices are widely followed, had been going on 'wild shopping sprees', much to the distress of her husband, who, its sources reveal, is 'absolutely furious' at his wife's 'out-of-control spending'.

The President has already come under fire this week over his decision to take a family vacation while millions of Americans are out of work and countless more are financially strapped.

The article continues to describe the outrageous and obscene gambit of the Obamas flying separately to their Martha's Vineyard vacation rental a mere four hours apart. Obama took Marine One to Andrews AFB which then flew to the Cape Code U.S. Coast Guard station. From thence, he travelled the final leg by helicopter. THE WIDE LOAD FLOTUS preceded him by four hours flying on a special USAF jet on "a specially designed military aircraft". As I said in a previous post, there is speculation that this was a weight and balance problem and that THE FLOTUS went on a C5A Galaxy.

The Daily Mail thoughtfully provides a summary of the more prominent outlays for this vacation-happy family:

Per diems for the secret service team runs at around $281 each - nearly $98,000 for the length of the summer break.

Use of Air Force Two, the Air Force version of a 757, comes in at $149,900 for the round trip. This does not include time on the ground.

Mrs Obama's personal staff, of which there are an unknown amount and might cost considerably more per day, should also be taken into account.

CHRISTMAS BREAK IN HAWAII: DECEMBER 2010
According to the Hawaii Reporter, the bill for the $1.5m trip included:

    $10,000 for an ambulance to be on hand at all times

SKI TRIP TO VAIL: FEBRUARY 2011
Mrs Obama and her daughters stayed at the Sebastian hotel on Vail Mountain, where rooms cost more than $2,400 for multi-bedroom suites.

The family appear to have flown there on Air Force Two.

They were escorted to the resort by a motorcade of about a dozen vehicles, including 15 state and local law enforcement officers

SUMMER HOLIDAY ON MARTHA'S VINEYARD: AUGUST 2011
The Blue Heron Farm estate, where the Obama family are currently staying, rents for about $50,000 a week.

According to U.S. News and World Report, the Coast Guard is required to keep ships floating near the property, the presidential helicopter and jet remain at the ready and security agents will be on 24-hour duty.

Of course, the above are only a few of the more prominent getaways; remember the infamous vacation-after-vacation during the Gulf oil spill. it seems that every time we turn around, this couple has split town.

My cousin Cathy lives in Connecticut, and is liberal, and hated "W", and loves Barack Hussein Obama. She is generally sending me things about how conservatives suck and stuff like that.

Well, I got an e-mail yesterday about the tragic destruction and devastation wrought by the recent 5.8 earthquake that hit NoVa and D.C. and parts of the (liberal) East Coast.

She and her husband John were severely hit but she assures me that they are persevering and will survive this great tragedy.

After bottoming out four times — we're talking two-foot holes in a sand-and-gravel road, along with one hairpin turn — Obama and Jarrett arrived at the West Tisbury home of their friends Brian and Aileen Roberts, spokesman Josh Earnest informs us. It was 5:30 p.m.

People pile on that "Miss me Yet?" Bush poster, proposing that it is time for a Carter version of the same.

..so Barack Obama's presidency has become such a malodorous stink bomb that we all have forgotten our misgivings about "W", cruised right past yearning for Bubba, the philandering cohibitator, and now grow nostalgic for disco, platform shoes, the Bee Gees, 8-tracks, and the days when our "only" problems were waiting in gas lines and having to endure an insufferable double-digit misery index.

In some ways, we long for Jimmah Carter.

To be clear: I hated Carter and I still do. I despised the bumbling ineffectiveness during his presidency and the absolute pig's breakfast he's made of his post-presidency. He is a garrulous, demented, senile old tool and useful idiot of lefty turd bags like Cheeseburger Moore. His utterances lately are the closest thing to diarrhea a human can evacuate orally.

But there is one thing to his everlasting credit: when the chips were down and he was at the absolute nadir of his presidency in the midst of the Iran hostage crisis, he kept America's interest and well-being first and foremost in his heart. He may have bumbled his way through this, but he did not give empty, self-absorbed speeches, did not embark on narcissistic "listening tour" bus trips, nor indulge in incredibly tone-deaf, exorbitant vacations. (And, insofar as I can remember, he and Rosalind travelled together on their vacation trips, sparing the American taxpayer the obscene double-billing.)

At the peril of his re-election, he imprisoned himself in the White House or Camp David, eschewing many opportunities to campaign while worrying over those poor unfortunates held prisoner by those sonsofbitches Aqua-Velva-Jhad and his merry men..

Carter always tried to be "like the common folk" with his cardigans, the "malaise speech", the imposition of 55 mph, and the other stupid things that festooned his four years. He was annoying, grating, and stupid. But he was not condescending nor was he arrogant.

Also, Rosalind Carter -- whom I irrationally disliked because of her association with Jimmah -- was a fine first lady who behaved decorously and kept in the background. In the main, both were -- in those days -- honorable people.

So, I never thought I'd say that but there it is:

Yes, President Carter, we do miss you very much!

10. Wal-Mart has approx. 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

It is now official that the majority of you are corrupt morons:

1. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.

2. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.

3. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.

4. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor" and they only want more.

5. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.

6. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.

7. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

President Obama has headlined 127 fundraising events for himself and others, significantly outpacing the fundraising activity of the previous five presidents during their first terms, new research obtained by USA TODAY shows.

By comparison, President George W. Bush had held 88 fundraisers and President Clinton, 76, at this point in their first terms, according to data compiled by Brendan Doherty, an assistant professor of politicial science at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. Doherty, who also studies presidential activity with the non-partisan White House Transition Project, examined fundraising going back to President Carter…

“We have entered the era of the permanent campaign,” said Anthony Corrado, a campaign-finance expert at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. “This is a reflection … of the enormous sums that are anticipated for the election.”

Here's hoping this sorry sack drains all of the coffers of the Democrat high rollers and loses in a massive landslide taking the Senate and more seats in the House with his sorry ass. Could there be a better example of tone-deafness and being out of touch than this?

If there could be, I am sure this clown will figure it out. I mean he has 15 months left in his reign of error.

THE-OBLIGATORY-IT-GETS-BETTER UPDATE: Kieth Koffler -- over at The White House Dossier -- reports that not only is The First Turd going on vacation in the midst of this economic maelstrom, but THE WIDE LOAD FLOTUS and he are taking separate jets (emphasis added):

Michelle Obama and President Obama traveled to Martha’s Vineyard just hours apart, costing taxpayers thousands in additional expenses so she could have just a bit of extra vacation time.

Mrs. Obama and her daughters arrived just before 2 pm Thursday on a U.S. government jet, according to the Martha’s Vineyard Times, which got its information from the local airport. The first lady’s office has been silent on her travel. President Obama arrived in the evening along with the family dog Bo.

The extra costs related to Mrs. Obama’s solo trip mainly include the flight on a specially designed military aircraft she took instead of Air Force One, as well as any extra staff and Secret Service that had to be enlisted to go with her. She would also have had her own motorcade from the airport to her vacation residence.

Aside from the obscene flaunting of privilege and waste of hundreds of thousands of taxpayer money just so this clown and his ample-trunked main squeeze (and the family dog) can have their exotic vacation, it offers up innumerable straight lines.

Oh, I dunno, like the part about THE WIDE LOAD FLOTUS having to travel "on a specially designed military aircraft" and The Pantload traveling with Bo. Just spitballin' here. Perhaps it really is a weight and balance problem with AF ONE and THE WIDE LOAD FLOTUS.

Never mind the stock market is cratering, we stand on the brink of a double-dip recession, and, in Europe, Germany's economy is folding like a cheap card table, The Magic Negro is headed off to his 10-day Martha's Vineyard vacation where he and THE WIDE LOAD FLOTUS will be biking, swimming, sucking down Soft Serv and $500 lobster dinners, while the proles get along on their Victory Meat and 300-grams-per-week rations and try to scratch out a living.

Oh, but it's o.k. because he's got a plan coming out -- after Labor Day -- that will rescue us all from these doldrums. Lessee, more taxes, extend the payroll tax reduction and, of course, extend jobless benefits and put more people on food stamps because, like the Ag Sec says, it stimulates the economy.

But that's not what's pissing me off. You wanna know what really pisses me off? Some clown riding a fruit-ball bike in faggoty Mom jeans like this fairy does.

If you're a POTUS, act like you got something between your legs and not some goddam metro-sexual fairy. Also, try riding with other serious riders, fer crissakes.

No wonder people are going ape over Perry. It'll be good to have someone in the White House who has a set of stones..

And he seems to be whistling past the graveyard while slamming Boehner -- yet again -- about not taking him up on the so-called "Grand Bargain":

President Obama told CBS News Wednesday that the United States isn't facing the possibility of another recession - but added that there remains a risk that the recovery will be too slow to deal with the "unemployment crisis."

"I don't think we're in danger of another recession, but we are in danger of not having a recovery that's fast enough to deal with a genuine unemployment crisis for a whole lot of folks out there," Mr. Obama told CBS News Senior Business Correspondent Anthony Mason. "And that's why we need to be doing more."

Man, is this jerkwad beating this subject like a rented mule or what? That ship has sailed, Your Eminence! Almost one month ago, Boehner bolted because Obama tried to pull a fast one on him:

House Speaker John Boehner on Friday pulled out of negotiations with President Obama on raising the nation's legal limit to borrow money, just days before the Aug. 2 deadline when the Treasury says the government will no longer be able to pay all its bills and possibly faces its first-ever default.

"The White House moved the goal post," Boehner said Friday evening in a news conference, claiming that the talks broke down when the White House demanded an additional $400 billion in new revenues, on top of the $800 billion that had been agreed on -- "which was going to be nothing more than a tax increase on the American people," Boehner said.

"They refused to get serious about cutting spending and making the tough choices that are facing our country on entitlement reform," he added.

Boehner's comments followed Obama's comments at a hastily arranged news conference in the White House briefing room.

"It's hard to understand why Speaker Boehner would walk away from this deal," a visibly irritated Obama said. "This was an extraordinarily fair deal.

He said the White House offered more than $1 trillion in cuts to discretionary spending, both domestic and defense and $650 billion in cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security in exchange for $1.2 trillion in new revenues without increasing individual tax rates.

After informing the president in a phone call of his decision to walk away, Boehner sent a letter to lawmakers saying, "In the end, we couldn't connect. Not because of different personalities, but because of different visions for our country."

..didja ever get that kind of treatment when you went in to buy a car? You know, where the sleaze who you are dealing with runs all of the numbers -- verbally -- and then steps out of the room to get the o.k. form his boss and the final documents. When he gets back, you are paring a couple of grand more for the car or an extra $250 per month.

Boehner did what you or I would have done when dealing with someone not negotiating in good faith: dropped him like fourth period French.

Well, slick, you are the titular head of one of the major parties in this two-party system. Your party has spent the last three years demonizing and slandering the other and those in a movement -- both Democrat and Republican (as well as Libertarian and other minor political factions) -- who have banded together because they are dismayed at the direction our country is going. One would think that the President of the United States of America could exhibit some leadership and bring the factions together -- especially since that was one of the campaign promises you ran on, slick. Boy, rather than bag on you, I thought I'd research this and came up with those propaganda links that your minions have strewn throughout the internet about how your programs created more jobs in 2010 that Bush did in all of his eight years.

Hah!

It's like your stupid-assed "saved or created" meme. You play with numbers and conveniently ignore facts:

The X axis shows the ENDING year (so the first data point shows the net jobs creation, and cumulative job creation for Jan-Dec 2001. The second data point from Jan-Dec of 2002 and so on).

The blue shaded backgrounds indicate the years President Bush was in office, with a GOP majority in the House (and, half the time, in the Senate as well).

The darker pink shows a Bush White House and Pelosi/Reid (Democrat) Congress.

The light pink shows an Obama White House and Pelosi/Reid (All Democrat) Congress.

What do we see?

- The Bush Administration with a GOP House and half-time GOP Senate started with the Clinton recession, and ended up building a net 4.2 million jobs over those 6 years.

- When the Democrats took over Congress, the jobs situation LOST 2.3 million net jobs

- President Bush left office with a net 1.9 million jobs created over his 8 years.

- President Obama has watched the number of net jobs drop from 1.9 million positive to 2.1 million negative. A loss of 4 million jobs on his watch.

Now, the article is barely factually correct; it states that 2010 saw more private sector jobs created than 8 years of Bush Administration. But is that a fair or balanced assessment? I would argue not; it's highly misleading and obviously so for political reasons only. Why do I state this? It's quite simple:

1. You are comparing 8 years of the Bush Administration with just ONE year of the Obama Administration. When you compare both years of the Obama Administration, you find a decidedly LESS rosy picture (4 million lost for Obama versus 2 million gained for President Bush).

2. You are discounting the impact of the Pelosi/Reid Congress (of which President Obama was a member, and thus also complicit in its effects). Note when the drop off starts - the blue line (net change year over year) takes a decided downturn when Pelosi and Reid take control. Coincidence? Given that was when the deficit spending (and budgets originate in the House) skyrocketed.

3. It discounts the 2010 effects. 2010 saw losses for 6 of the first 9 months; when the Republican sweep of Congress became inevitable (in October, 2010) we see employment taking off. And continuing to take off. Most of the gains for Obama came with a GOP-led or GOP-incumbent Congress.

Now, the original author and poster tried to insinuate that the Obama Administration and the Democrats in Congress were better for jobs than President George W. Bush and the GOP led House (and half-time GOP led Senate). Yet when we examine the data, we find that such insinuations are simply not supportable. They don't hold up under an examination of THEIR provided data.

The conclusions are unequivocal:

- President Bush, in his first 2 years, saw fewer losses of jobs than President Obama
- President Bush, and the GOP led House, saw a net growth of 6 million jobs
- Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Reid oversaw a loss of 2 million jobs
- President Obama and the Pelosi/Reid led Congress presided over a loss of 4 million jobs

How that translates into "Bush=bad for jobs, Obama=good for jobs" I'm not sure, but then again, liberal logic still is a complete mystery to me!

Sorry for the cut-and-paste on this post, but's it's one of the better refutations of Obama's job numbers bullshit and i didn't want to trust the explanation to link rot or my mis-interpretation. Kudos to the author for the legwork!

Shepard Fairey -- the street artist who created the iconic Obama "Hope" poster -- was throttled heartily by some irate Danes who took exception to his carpet-bagging his politics to Copenhagen:

When graffiti artist Shepard Fairey turned his talents to US politics, his reward was international acclaim and a letter of thanks from Barack Obama. When he employed a similar tactic in Denmark, however, the response proved altogether less edifying.

Last weekend, Fairey – creator of the famous "Hope" poster that came to encapsulate Obama's 2008 presidential campaign – was beaten up after the opening of his exhibition at a Copenhagen gallery.

Earlier this month he was involved with a controversial mural that has enraged leftwing anarchists throughout the city.

"I have a black eye and a bruised rib," Fairey told the Guardian.

According to reports, 41-year-old Fairey and his colleague Romeo Trinidad were punched and kicked by at least two men outside the Kodboderne 18 nightclub in the early hours of last Saturday morning. Fairey claims the men called him "Obama illuminati" and ordered him to "go back to America".

The LA-based artist believes the attack was sparked by a misunderstanding over his mural commemorating the demolition of the legendary "Ungdomshuset" (youth house) at Jagtvej 69. The building, a long-term base for Copenhagen's leftwing community, was controversially demolished in 2007. In the intervening years it has become a potent symbol of the standoff between the establishment in Copenhagen and its radical fringe.

Poor bastard, earns a ton of loot painting a poster used by King Putt to get elected and then goes to some Euro-socialist stronghold and gets his lights punched out by a bunch of commie libtards. I tell ya, there's no justice in the world. But don't cry for him, Argentina, he's doing all right fame- and money-wise. Besides, per the article, he kind of cops an attitude himself:

These days, he admitted, he has grown used to defending himself against accusations of selling out. "I think there are a lot of people who think that if you've done well, you've done a deal with the devil," he said.

The artist said he had not filed a police report following the attack in Copenhagen. "I did not know any of the people or get a great look at them, so it seemed pointless," he said.

"I'm not a huge fan of the cops anyway. The only thing I could see coming out of it was further media commentary like 'street artist whiner Shepard Fairey can't hold it down in a fight so he snitches to the cops'."
